Even when I was thin, I avoided horizontal stripes like the plague. Even when I was skinny (5′ 3″, 110#), I felt too fat. Fast forward almost 40 years and I don’t care anymore. Most of my merino clothes are solids, a far cry from the colorful synthetic leggings and graphic tees I was wearing. While I have a variety of colors, I really wanted more patterns/prints and they have been harder to find.
Until this year! I recently bought two striped style tops and I love them! I have two colors in the one on the left (from wool& in 78% merino wool, 22% nylon) and three sleeve lengths (from Woolx in 85% Australian Merino Wool, 12% Nylon, 3% Spandex) in the one on the right. I loved adding these to my solid clothes.
I feel good in them. At my age I don’t think they make me look any fatter than I am, and that’s okay by me!

I don’t care anymore either! I’d love to see merino tops with flowered or abstract patterns, but in their absence, I’m happy wearing stripes.
Stripes definitely help, and I do have a plaid vest for winter, but like you – some prints would be awesome! Thanks for dropping by and commenting, Vicki!
