I know I’m truly considered elderly when…

  • …it takes me forever to scroll down to my birth year.
  • …I don’t understand a commercial because I am no longer the target audience.
  • …I dress completely for comfort and don’t care about what’s in/out of fashion.
  • …I don’t feel bad about sleeping in or taking naps.
  • …I realize, even though they are tougher to get tied, laced shoes are safer to wear.
  • …I don’t understand current day slang, text abbreviations, etc.
  • …a pedicure is a much needed treat for my feet, even without polish.
  • …I can’t do what I used to do – both fatigue and flexibility have decreased tremendously.
  • …I watch an old show, listen to favorite music from my teens, and realize the artists are dead.
  • …people younger than me are dying – including family and friends.
  • …the stores and other businesses I grew up with are no longer around.
  • …I search for senior discounts both online and in person.
  • …I realize next year this century will be 1/4 over, but the year 2000 seems like yesterday.

45!!! Wow – that’s amazing. Between us, with two blended 20 years marriages (we were both widowed when we met), we have 27 grandkids (26 living) and 18 great-grands. Glad it was an amazing Mother’s Day for you.
