Once again I am participating in the Share Your World challenge.
You can learn more and see the instructions HERE.
1. If money was no object, what would be your ideal holiday?
At this point in life, it would be an around the world cruise. What a wonderful, stress-free to see the world. There are several available but WAY out of our budget!
2. Do you save for a holiday or put it on plastic to pay off later?
Both. Prime example is our upcoming fall trip – three cruises with time spent in Barcelona, Rome, and Scotland as well as port stops in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, and Turkey. We started with one cruise and a week in Scotland. At that point in time, we started saving monthly for the trip. Then the rest was added, and while the cruises will be paid for as well as airfare, the hotels – meals – excursions – ground transportation will all be charged and paid off when we get home.
3. Have you ever been on a cruise?
Oh my, yes. Our favorite vacation! No cooking, no cleaning, free entertainment, and meeting new friends (crew and other cruisers). I’ve been on 32 and hubby has been on 33. We currently have six booked, three in the fall with three more in January (same ship, back-to-back-to-back).
4. Do you send postcards or buy mementos?
We used to get small carved mementos and they are all in a small cabinet in our foyer. Now, we collect photos. I take a lot of them.
OPTIONAL Gratitude: Sometimes, just having someone by your side is enough.
I am so grateful to have my husband by my side. He’s my greatest cheerleader and always keeps me from getting too serious (but understands when I am).
Terrific post Donna. Our holidays have mainly been camping as we could take the dog.
We've had a few breaks away when we didn't have one which were half board so we only had to find one meal, which was usually a snack out in a cafe or similar.
My Hubby is also my cheerleader. Thanks for sharing your world.
That is our biggest expense – boarding our two dogs. Fortunately we have a good place for them and they get to play all day. When we first me, we were full-time RVers and every day was like a vacation. We plan to sell the RV in the next year, it's gotten so expensive and it takes so much work and energy (of while I have a limited supply).
